The function of the four-stroke cylinder head is to streamline the intake and exhaust gases into the cylinder(s) while also injecting fuel. The cylinder head also seals the bottom block so that compression can be built up in the cylinders for optimum combustion.
Considering the number of rotating and moving parts, the cylinder head is the most complex part of a combustion engine. In addition, there are numerous parts mounted in and on the cylinder head, including the intake and exhaust manifold, camshafts, valves and distribution. In this category you will find everything concerning the cylinder head for both diesel and petrol engines. The individual attachments can be found in the other product categories. When fitting a new or reconditioned cylinder head, it is also important that a new head gasket is fitted and, for most engines, also new bolts and/or nuts as these are usually single-use stretch bolts. These parts can be found in the "Bolts" category.
If you have any questions or doubts about the application of the parts, please contact one of our product specialists.
In this category you will find complete cylinder heads for petrol and diesel engines, both new and reconditioned. When the old cylinder head is worn or damaged to such an extent, it may be advisable to replace the entire cylinder head with a new or used one. From a cost point of view, this is often more interesting than the many working hours required for a partial overhaul or repair.
In this category you will find valve cover (sets), camshaft covers and other parts for under the valve cover. When replacing the valve cover it is advisable to also replace the valve cover gasket or gaskets; these can be found in the category "Gaskets". This ensures an airtight seal and prevents leaks.
Camshaft housings and bearing caps can be found in this category. They are replaced if there is excessive wear (in excess of tolerances) or if there is a defect. When you are going to replace them, make sure that the camshaft(s) is (are) still usable. It is also important that new bearings are fitted if they have also been subject to wear and tear; bearings can be found in the category "Bearings".
