The Mahle brothers began a century ago as true pioneers, inventing improvements to the then-young internal combustion engine. Light metal pistons, for example, but also better air filters and oil filters to keep dirt and dust out of the combustion chambers. Meanwhile, in addition to the automotive sector, MAHLE is a big name in the demanding world of performance. In this blog, we highlight a selection of our most popular MAHLE product groups!
All that gained knowledge from the racing world, MAHLE takes back to the test sites and factories worldwide, where the products for the broad automotive sector are made. Always looking for more efficient combustion, longer life, comfort and therefore more driving pleasure. No wonder that today, more than half of all cars and trucks are equipped with at least one MAHLE component. With 72,000 employees, MAHLE is one of the Top 20 large employers in the development and production of automotive parts.
In the field of bearings, MAHLE is ahead of many other manufacturers thanks to decades of improvements. Both in the choice of materials and in the workmanship of their products. MAHLE bearings are therefore a well-known name in both the original channel and the field of remanufacturing. The well-known Clevite brand is also part of MAHLE's range of bearings.
Again, it was MAHLE's intensive research in its test labs and expert knowledge that led to a quality that the original channel is grateful for. You will find MAHLE pistons in the engines of almost all major car brands. For the aftermarket, MAHLE also offers a wide range of different piston coatings and finishes.
MAHLE valves come in dozens of sizes and variants to withstand any kind of thermal, chemical and mechanical load. This is always the big challenge when designing valves.
For cylinder liners, MAHLE is in constant consultation with various car manufacturers during testing on what requirements they should meet. So they can always supply OE-quality products for the aftermarket as well.
A small but indispensable component in an engine. If the piston rings are worn, compression and therefore power decreases. In addition, the engine may start consuming (more) oil because the seal no longer meets the required specifications.
MAHLE also supplies ready-made assemblies. This is a piston with cylinder liner including the piston rings. It is best to get a complete set from MAHLE, so everything fits together perfectly. That means less searching and quality all in one. A valuable piece of advice from Wilmink's product specialist: when replacing these parts, also consider the other engine parts that work together with them, such as the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod bearings and the crankshaft and connecting rod bolts.
